John Cross tragically lost his life in a massive powerboat accident on Sunday the 28th of November 2010. We lost a good friend ,a fierce competitor , a larrikin, an all round great guy. In my opinion John Cross was the best powerboat driver that Australia has ever seen and could do things in a boat that others could only dream of doing. I feel privilege to have been associated with johns power boat racing early in his career.He will be sadly missed. His friendship and crazy antics on and off the race course  will be something I’ll never forget.
